Working Visit of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to the West Bali National Park Office, Jembrana Regency, Bali


 

Denpasar, December 8 2022, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FVM Unud) held a working visit to the West Bali National Park (WBNP) Office, Jembrana Bali Regency, that day also coincided with the Full Moon which is a holy day for Hinduism. During this working visit the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (Prof. Dr. drh. I. Nyoman Suartha, MSi) with the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance (Dr. drh Luh Gde Sri Surya Heryani, M.Biomed), Vice Dean Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation (Dr, drh. I Wayan Sudira, MSi) and Coordinating Study Programs for Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Professional Program and Master of Veterinary Medicine. This visit also included educational staff to be invited to perform the tirta yatra in series with this holy holiday. The arrival of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine team was welcomed very well by the Head of the West Bali National Park (WBNP). Head of Balai, drh. Agus Ngurah Krisna Kepakisan, MSi, received a team from FVM Unud, which was received in the WBNP hall. Expressing gratitude and welcome for his working visit, because so far FVM Unud and WBNP have had very good cooperation. The head of the Center, who was an alumnus of the 1988 class of FVM Unud, talked about the difficult past in college which is now recognized as having progressed very well, as evidenced by the achievement of excellent accreditation at both the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Masters levels. Featured in his presentation regarding the working area of the WBNP, the number of visits and daily activities in the WBNP.



 

Meanwhile the Dean of FVM Unud, Prof. Suartha conveyed that the purpose of his visit and his team was to convey plans for collaboration and implementation of activities to be carried out with WBNP in 2023. There are many things that can be done in this collaboration, concerning the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely the Fields of Education, Research and Community Service. For the Education Sector, at that time it was also conveyed that the Veterinary Medicine Masters Program had just re-accredited and with the maximum achievement, namely being accredited Superior. This achievement is of course inseparable from the involvement of partners from FVM Unud, one of which is the WBNP. The Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation (Dr. Sudira) said that there is an interest activity called Rotchildi whose area of interest is about wild animals, which is very suitable for learning in the WBNP. Moreover, there is a program from the Ministry of Technology and Culture Research which launched the Merdeka Kampus Merdeka Program (MBKM). This program gives students the freedom to take off-campus learning for one semester, equivalent to twenty semester credit units (20 credits). Head of Center and the staff are very enthusiastic about welcoming this program and will provide a wide space for students to study in WBNP, of course under the guidance of technical staff in WBNP. At that time, an Implementation of arrangement (IOA) was signed between FVM Unud and WBNP.




 

In that meeting there was also a very good discussion, many things related to educational information and the learning process as well as college completion strategies were also discussed. Enthusiasm for continuing education among WBNP staff who have the opportunity to continue their education. At the end of the session, brochures were handed over about the Masters Program in Veterinary Medicine to be studied, and if it is not clear, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is ready to provide further explanation through existing social media.
