Overview
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine-Udayana University (FKH-UNud) is one of the faculties that initially still joined the Faculty of Animal Husbandry (FKHP) which marked the birth of Udayana University. Udayana University was officially established on August 17, 1962, with the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science No. 104, dated August 9, 1962, and further strengthened by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 18, January 18, 1963.
At the beginning of its establishment, Udayana University was supported by four faculties, namely the Faculty of Letters (FS), the Faculty of Medicine (FK), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry (FKHP), the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Science (FKIP). At that time, FKHP Udayana University only fostered the field of Animal Science only, and in 1978 a new Department of Veterinary Medicine was formed. After 5 years with FKHP, in 1983 this faculty was developed into the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and the Veterinary Medicine Study Program.
Based on the Decree of the Director-General of Higher Education No. 8 DJ / Kep / 1983, dated 12 February 1983 regarding the formation of the Veterinary Study Program at Udayana University as an Inter-Faculty Study Program that can carry out the Undergraduate Program (S1) and is valid since 1 July 1983. Furthermore, thanks to the hard work of all academicians and support from various parties, the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Education and Culture Decree No. 204/0/1997, dated 22 August 1997, which stated that he founded the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University.
Until now, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University has implemented three programs, namely the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Profession Program (PPDH), and Masters in Veterinary Medicine. The undergraduate program takes 4 years with 146 credits and is continued with the Professional program for 1.5 years with 40 credits.
Students who study at FKH Unud come from all regions of Indonesia including foreign countries such as Timor Leste and Malaysia. Studying at FKH Unud has advantages, namely the location of the campus in the middle of Denpasar city with easy access to support, inexpensive tuition fees, affordable living costs for students, and the ease of finding student housing/lodging. Academic excellence is that all study programs have been accredited A according to LAMPTKes, with superior study materials in the fields of Bali cattle, Bali pigs and Kintamani dogs.
