Continuing to Achieve Excellence, LPM Suara Satwa Wins Bronze at the SPS Awards 2025
The Student Press Institution (LPM) Suara Satwa of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FKH Unud), successfully earned the Bronze Winner title at the 2025 Indonesia Student Media Awards (ISMA) in the Best Student Magazine category, through its publication Suara Satwa Vol. 43 No. 76. The award was presented during the SPS Awards 2025 ceremony, held on May 23 2025, at the Press Council Hall in Jakarta, as a form of recognition for the finest journalistic works in Indonesia. Held under the theme “Indonesian Press, the Pillar of Trusted Information,” the event was attended by the Chair of the Press Council, Prof. Dr. Komaruddin Hidayat, Chairman of the Indonesian Press Company Union (SPS), Januar P. Ruswita; members of the jury, and around 400 participants, including media leaders, public relations officers from both government and corporate sectors, and student press representatives from across the country.
This year marks the 16th edition of the SPS Awards, featuring five main categories: Indonesia Print Media Awards (IPMA), Indonesia Inhouse Magazine Awards (InMA), Indonesia Young Readers Awards (IYRA), Indonesia Student Media Awards (ISMA), and Indonesia Digital Media Awards (IDMA). The jury panel consisted of seven distinguished figures from various professional backgrounds. They are senior journalist, founder of Tirto.id and Binokular, and a member of the Press Council (2022–2025), Sapto Anggoro; mass communication expert and Professor at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Hamad; senior journalist, communication expert, founder of PR INDONESIA Group, and Secretary General of SPS, Asmono Wikan; Chair of the Indonesian Public Relations Companies Association, Sari Soegondo; senior photojournalist and executive member of the Indonesian Photography Society, Oscar Motuloh; branding, graphic design, and digital expert, Jonathan Kriss; and senior photojournalist at Kompas, Danu Kusworo,
In this prestigious competition, several media outlets and institutions succeeded in earning top honors. In the Indonesia Student Media Awards (ISMA) category, under the subcategory Best Student Magazine, LPM Suara Satwa was awarded the Bronze Winner, bringing home both a trophy and a certificate of achievement. Mia Kosasih, Chief Editor of Suara Satwa and official delegate at the SPS Awards 2025, expressed her pride and gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such a distinguished event. She described the Bronze recognition as a meaningful first milestone and conveyed her hopes that future generations of Suara Satwa will continue to uphold and enhance the magazine’s quality. “We are truly grateful for this year’s Bronze Winner award.
