Veterinary Coastal Clean Up 2024: Together with BEM FKH Unud to Maintain the Cleanliness of the Coast

Saturday, September 7th, 2024, the Community Service Sector of the Student Executive Board of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (BEM FKH Unud) successfully held the Veterinary Coastal Clean Up (VCCU). This event is an annual program focused on environmental service through beach clean-up activities.


This year, VCCU was held at Kelan Beach, which is located in Tuban, Badung, Bali. BEM FKH Unud invited FKH Unud students to join as volunteers without any cost. VCCU 2024 was attended Deputy Cief of the Kelan Traditional Village, Ketut Gede

Sujana, Coordinator of the Environment and Cleanliness (DLHK), Putu Sukaaryama, DLHK staff, BEM FKH Udayana functionaries and 90 volunteers. The activity started at 5.00 PM Wita with the cleaning of the beach area, then continued with handing over rubbish bins as a symbol of collaboration between Kelan Village and VCCU. The event closed with introductions and conveying messages and impressions between participants.



The main objective of holding this VCCU is to show the concern of BEM FKH Unud for the environment, especially the coastal ecosystem, to ensure it remains clean and free from plastic waste. Apart from that, it is hoped that VCCU can become a forum for FKH Unud students to build a sense of togetherness and strengthen solidarity between generations.

"I did not expect that the number of participants who registered as volunteers would exceed expectations, the enthusiasm was really felt from the participants, and the warmth that was built was also felt," explained the Personal In Charge (PIC) of VCCU, Arvel Wihangga.
