Two Professors of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) were Inaugurated, Now Udayana University's FKH has 18 Permanent Professors
Saturday, January 25, 2025, Udayana University (Unud) once again held a Permanent Professor Inauguration Ceremony. The event was conducted in-person at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Udayana University, Jimbaran, and was also live-streamed through the YouTube channel Udayana TV. The inauguration was attended by several important figures, including the elected Governor of Bali, Dr. Ir. Wayan Koster, M.M., members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI), members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD), the Rector and Vice Rectors of Unud, Chair and Members of the Unud Senate, Chair of the Unud Professors Forum, Deans from 13 Unud faculties, along with other invited guests.
A total of 12 professors were inaugurated from 8 faculties. With this inauguration, Unud now has 230 permanent professors. The 12 professors who were appointed are:
- Prof. Dr. Dewa Ngakan Ketut Putra Negara, S.T., M.Sc. (Faculty of Engineering)
- Prof. Dr. I Made Sukarsa, S.T., M.T. (Faculty of Engineering)
- Prof. Dr. Ir. Ni Putu Sarini, M.Sc. (Faculty of Animal Husbandry)
- Prof. James Sibarani, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences)
- Prof. Dr. drh. Wayan Bebas, M.Kes. (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
- Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Sulabda, M.Kes. (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine)
- Prof. Ir. Anak Agung Putu Agung Suryawan Wiranatha, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Faculty of Agricultural Technology)
- Prof. Dr. dr. Susy Purnawati, M.K.K. (Faculty of Medicine)
- Prof. Dr. Ir. I Ketut Sardiana, M.Si. (Faculty of Agriculture)
- Prof. Dr. Gusti Ngurah Alit Susanta Wirya, S.P., M.Agr. (Faculty of Agriculture)
- Prof. Dr. Drs. Putu Sutama, M.S. (Faculty of Cultural Sciences)
- Prof. Agoes Ganesha Rahyuda, S.E., M.T., Ph.D. (Faculty of Economics and Business)
With this inauguration, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) at Unud now has 18 active permanent professors. Prof. Dr. drh. Wayan Bebas, M.Kes., was appointed as a professor in the field of Veterinary Reproductive Technology and is the 21st professor, while Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Sulabda, M.Kes., was appointed as a professor in the field of Veterinary Physiology and is the 22nd professor.
The inauguration session was opened by the Chair of the Unud Senate, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Mahardika, M.S. The event continued with the presentation of the Decree from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gede Rai Maya Temaja, M.P. The sequence of events proceeded with the bestowal of the professorial title by the Unud Rector, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., and the presentation of membership cards to the Professors Forum by the Chair of the Unud Professors Forum, Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suastika, Sp.PD-KEMD.
The event was not only limited to administrative proceedings but also included remarks from the Unud Rector and academic orations from the 12 newly inaugurated professors. During the academic oration session, Prof. Dr. drh. Wayan Bebas, M.Kes., delivered a presentation titled "Utilization of Natural Resources as Semen Diluent," while Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Sulabda, M.Kes., presented an oration titled "The Role of Veterinary Physiology in Animal Health Science Development." Following the academic orations, the Chair of the Unud Professors Forum provided remarks and support to the 12 newly inaugurated professors. Subsequently, the event was concluded by the Chair of the Unud Senate.
In a brief interview, Prof. Dr. drh. Wayan Bebas, M.Kes., expressed his hope to contribute meaningfully to the academic world, society, and the Indonesian nation. "Professorship is not the end of a journey, but the beginning of a greater responsibility," he stated.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Sulabda, M.Kes., noted that the journey to becoming a professor is extraordinary and full of challenges. He also offered words of encouragement to students pursuing veterinary medicine, "To those who dream of veterinary medicine, never stop learning and continue to work with passion. Veterinary medicine is about creating a positive impact, so approach it with enthusiasm and enjoy every step of the process."
The entire event proceeded smoothly and with solemnity. The proceedings were interspersed with a traditional dance performance by Unud students and concluded with congratulatory remarks from invited guests to the 12 newly inaugurated professors. The addition of these professors is expected to enhance the educational quality at Udayana University.
