Turtle Guard On The Go 2023, Organized by Minat Profesi Turtle Guard FVM Udayana

Minat Profesi Turtle Guard, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, is organizing an annual event, namely Turtle Guard On The Go 2023 (TG OTG).This event is held at SMP Negeri 3 Kuta Selatan and the Turtle Conservation and Education Center (TCEC), taking place over two days, Saturday (25/11/2023) and Sunday (26/11/2023). This year's Turtle Guard on The Go adopts the theme "SOS: Save Our Sea Animals."




On the first day (25/11/2023), a socialization event was held with the sub-theme "Splish-Splash, No More Trash," starting with the opening by the MC, Zhaskia Ashari, followed by a prayer. Subsequently, the attendees sang the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the presentation of the Report from the Chairperson of TG OTG 2023 by Amanda Christy Siahaan, a speech from the Chairperson of Minat Profesi Turtle Guard by Dave Almendo, a speech from the Chairman of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, represented by Ailsa Cinta, and a speech from the Headmaster of SMP Negeri 3 Kuta Selatan, I Nyoman Suantana S.Pd., M.Pd.


 


The event continued with a pre-test, participated in by all participants using Quizizz with gadgets. Following that, the event proceeded with a presentation by Drh. Andi Putri Restu Rachmawati Trisaldy, S.KH, titled "Our Adventure in Protecting Marine Life: Let's Together Protect the Ocean Ecosystem!" After the material presentation, a discussion session ensued, during which all participants were very enthusiastic in asking questions to the speaker. Following the conclusion of the material presentation and discussion sessions, certificates were then awarded to the speakers.


The event continued with guided games by Justin Mindan and Fina, which were participated in by all attendees. After the games concluded, the event proceeded to the Fun Activity (Poster Making), where the creation of posters contained the previously provided material, with all participants divided into 5 groups. Subsequently, the event continued with an ice-breaking session and was followed by the presentation of a plaque to the school as a token of appreciation for trusting Minat Profesi Turtle Guard, Veterinary Medicine Faculty, Udayana University. Following that, announcements were made for the most active participant, game winners, and the best poster group. The event concluded with a group photo session and the closing of the socialization event.



 

"We, as the leaders of SMPN 3 Kuta Selatan, express our gratitude to the students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for the trust in conducting a socialization event on animal protection by maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. We are very proud of the enthusiasm shown by the students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who provided knowledge and insights on how to preserve the environment to our students. Our students appeared happy and enthusiastic in participating in the activities. The sense of camaraderie and brotherhood between the students from the faculty and our students was strongly felt. With the joy in carrying out the activities, time seemed to pass quickly. After the event, our students gained knowledge that we hope can be implemented or practiced in the future. We hope that in the future, if there are other programs from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for the school, we are ready to assist and support. May our collaboration continue to thrive." Mr. Suantana (School Principal) expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee at the end of the event.



After the event concluded, the entire committee engaged in cleaning up the hall and bid farewell to the school. The program continued with a departure to the location of the Beach Clean Up (BCU) at Tanjung Benoa Beach, followed by a briefing for the committee on beach clean up, group and area assignments, and a welcome address from Bendesa Adat Banjar Tanjung Benoa. Subsequently, the beach cleaning activity took place, involving the collection of both organic and inorganic waste. After completing the beach cleaning, the committee proceeded with the final cleaning up and an evaluation session.


 


On the second day (26/11/2023), the event took place at the Turtle Conservation and Education Center (TCEC), focusing on preparing for podcast recording. Subsequently, a briefing was conducted for the podcast speakers and moderator. This was followed by the recording of the podcast, moderated by Akilah Balqis and featuring speakers drh. Ida Bagus Nararya Primastana Adnyana, S.KH, and drh. Rizma Yolanda Timor, S.KH. The sub-theme discussed was "A Study of Rabies Cases in Aquatic Tourism."


After the podcast recording was completed, the event proceeded with the presentation of certificates to the two speakers. Following that, a documentation session was conducted by all committee members and speakers, which concluded with the closing of the event.
