Obesity is a condition of excess fat in the adipose tissue in the body. Age, gender, owner's lifestyle, and feed are factors that can play a role in the occurrence of obesity in animals. It is important to adjust your pet's diet according to its weight and needs, in order to avoid diseases triggered by excess weight. “Currently, obesity does not only occur in humans, but animals can also become obese. What's worse, there are quite a few pet owners who actually want their animals to be fat because they are cute and fun to look at," said Meilda Yunita as chief organizer of the 2024 P-LO National Seminar.
The P-LO National Seminar was a successful event which was welcomed quite well by the participants. Even though there were several technical problems during the event, and participants enthusiasm waned towards the end of the event, this did not reduce the smooth running of the event. It is hoped that this seminar can educate and increase awareness of pet owners and also prospective veterinarians regarding the dangers of obesity in household pets.
