The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University held an initiative collaboration with the School of Veterinary Science from Yamaguchi University and Tottori University, Japan

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) of Udayana University (UNUD) initiated collaboration with the School of Veterinary Medicine Yamaguchi University and the School of Veterinary Science, Tottori University Japan on February 11, 2023. When attending the event of 7th International Symposium Association of Japan Indonesia Veterinary Education (AJIVE) at Hasanuddin University Hotel, Makassar, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. drh. I Wayan Sudira, M.Si together with  a cooperation staff of FVM UNUD, drh. I Made Kardena, MVS met and coordinated directly with two veterinary schools in Japan, such as Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, Yamaguchi University, Prof. Masahisa Watarai, DVM, PhD and Dean of the School of Veterinary Science, Tottori University, Prof. Tsuyoshi Yamaguchi, DVM, PhD. From this early step of the collaboration, it is hoped to have further chances for the opportunities in academics, research and student exchange. 

  

In addition, an initiation of national-level cooperation was also carried out with the coordinator of the Veterinary Study Program, Hasanuddin University, Dr. drh. Dwi Kesuma Sari, APVet. In the discussion, the primarily collaboration was mainly focusing on student exchange programs, particularly to support the national program of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) where students get the opportunities to study at different universities but are still in the same study program. Moreover, it also discussed to extend the MoU between Hasanuddin University and Udayana University, which has already completed in 2018. 

After these meetings, some follow ups need to be performed in order to obtain formal cooperation agreement (PKS) with those institutions and consequently, the implementation of the collaboration can be conducted and finally, it positively contributes to the FVM, UNUD.
