The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Promotes a Masters Program to the Food, Crops and Agriculture Service in Jembrana Regency, Bali
The Udayana University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) held a working visit to the Agriculture and Food Service, Jembrana Regency Bali on Thursday 8 December 2022, coinciding with the Sixth Full Moon which is a holy day for Hindus. During this working visit the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (Prof. Dr. drh. I. Nyoman Suartha, MSi) with the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance (Dr. drh Luh Gde Sri Surya Heryani, M.Biomed), Mr Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Information and Cooperation (Dr, drh. I Wayan Sudira, MSi) and Coordinating Study Programs for Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Professional Program and Master of Veterinary Medicine. This visit also included educational staff to be invited to perform the tirta yatra in series with this holy holiday. The arrival of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine team was welcomed very well by the Head of the Jembrana District Agriculture and Food Service (I Wayan Sutama, SP., MSi), the Head of Production (Drh. I Wayan Widarsa) and the Head of Animal Health (Drh. I) Putu Gde Kasthama S, MSi) along with staff from the Department of Agriculture and Food. This event was held in the Jembrana Regency Agriculture and Food Service room, which is located at Jalan Surapati Number 1 Negara.
The activity began with the delivery of welcome greetings by the Head of Service. I Wayan Sutama, expressed his gratitude and welcome to the team from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University. This activity is part of the implementation of the collaboration between FVM Unud and the Jembrana Regency Agriculture and Food Service which has been outlined in the form of a Cooperation Agreement (CA) and has been signed previously. He and the head of the production and animal health sector welcomed this activity. There are many things that collaboration can do in filling collaborative activities in the fields of education, research and community service. It is related to this field of education that the Masters Program is promoted, which is owned by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, because there are still many staff from the Agriculture and Food Service of Jembrana Regency who are still educated at the Veterinary Professional level, so they really need to be upgraded to the Masters level. He really wants to have staff with master's qualifications who are certain that their competence will increase.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FVM (Prof. Suartha) said that his arrival with the team this time was in the context of implementing the agreed collaboration. He offers and promotes the Masters Program in Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, giving priority and opportunities for staff from the department to continue their studies. Lecture activities can be carried out in a hybrid online and offline manner. The lecturers are of superior quality. He also said that the Veterinary Medicine Masters Program had just been accredited by Lam PT Kes and received the title of excellence. So there is no need to doubt the quality. In that meeting there was also a very good discussion, many things related to educational information and the learning process as well as college completion strategies were also discussed. The enthusiasm for continuing education among the Agriculture and Food Service staff was very good. It was conveyed that there were also approximately twenty service staff members who had the opportunity to continue their Education.
