Strengthening Academic Quality, Udayana University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Undergoes Accreditation Visitation for Undergraduate and Professional Programs
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University (FKH Unud) underwent an accreditation visitation for the Undergraduate Veterinary Medicine Program and the Veterinary Professional Program (PPDH) from September 11 to 14, 2024. This evaluation process was carried out by an accreditation team aimed at assessing the quality and standards of academic programs, ensuring alignment with established quality standards.
First Day and Opening Ceremony
The first day of visitation activities began on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Building at the Jimbaran Campus. The accreditation team consisted of experts from three leading Faculties of Veterinary Medicine in Indonesia: Prof. Dr. drh. Joko Prastowo, M.Si., from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Prof. drh. Tutik Wresdiyati, Ph.D., P.A.Vet., from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), and Prof. Dr. drh. Ririh Yudhastuti, M.Sc., from Airlangga University (Unair).
The event was officially opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Udayana University, attended by the academic community of FKH Unud, including the Dean, Vice Deans, all lecturers, Study Program Coordinators , the Taskforce Team, and representatives from various units such as the Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M), the Educational Development and Quality Assurance Unit (UP3M), as well as student and alumni representatives.
In his opening remarks, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs expressed appreciation for the development of facilities and academic programs at FKH Unud. He hoped that this visitation would serve as a foundation for future program improvements, enabling the faculty to maintain its superior accreditation and achieve international standards.
The first day's agenda included the presentation of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) Document by the Dean of FKH Unud, followed by program presentations by the Head of the Undergraduate Veterinary Medicine Program and the PPDH Program. Discussions and clarifications regarding the programs were the core of the day, which concluded with interviews between the accreditation team and the faculty members.
Second Day
The second day of the visitation, held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, focused on interviews and a review of campus facilities. The accreditation team conducted interviews with undergraduate and PPDH students, educators, alumni, and employers of the graduates. These interviews were divided into four sessions to explore various aspects of the academic programs at FKH Unud.
Addition, the team also inspected several laboratories, including the Biostatistics, Parasitology, Physiology, Pharmacology, and Anatomy laboratories, to ensure that the infrastructure adequately supports learning and research activities.
Third Day and Closing
The third day, on Friday, September 13, 2024, marked the conclusion of the accreditation visitation. The leadership of FKH Unud, including the Dean, Vice Deans, Study Program Heads, Senate Chairs Lecturer, and Unit Coordinators, attended the event alongside the accreditation team. The final agenda included a review of the visitation report addendum, followed by the signing of the accreditation report by the Dean of FKH Unud and all members of the accreditation team.
The visitation officially concluded with speeches from the Lead Assessor, Prof. Dr. drh. Joko Prastowo, M.Si., and the Dean of FKH Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si. The accreditation team was scheduled to return to their respective universities the following day, Saturday, September 14, 2024.
On behalf of the academic community of FKH Unud, we extend our gratitude to the accreditation team and all involved parties. We hope that through this visitation process, FKH Unud will achieve an "Excellent" accreditation rating from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes), further solidifying its steps toward achieving international standards.
