SEB DVMUnud and the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia Held International Guest Lecture

The Student Executive Board (SEB) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) Udayana University (Unud) together with the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia Foundation officially held a public guest lecture which was held on Monday (15/5) and took place at the Agricultural Technology Study Center (BPTP) Bali.


In this public lecture activity, Dr. Gabrielle Musk from farmedwell as the speaker. Also present were other Farmedwell parties, Animals Australia,Andi SC Jovand Imanuel Calvary, S.Pd. M.H, C.Md asThe Head of the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia Foundation, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University, and lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University, as well as 12 stakeholders in collaboration with FVM Unud.

 


The activity designed by SEB FVM Unud functionaries and a team from the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia Foundation succeeded in inviting 97 participants to participate. This activity begins with welcoming speech from Farmedwell and officially opened by Prof. Dr. Drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si as the Dean of FVM Unud.


“I hope that all of my children who attend this public lecture really listen and gain knowledge that can be implemented in the future. We also thank the foundations and sponsors who are willing to hold this activity, "saidProf. Dr. Drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si as Dean of FVM Unud when opening public lecture activities.


In the presentation of the material presented by Dr. Gabrielle Musk, it raised the topic ofVeterinary Anaesthesia, Analgesia, Quality of Life and Euthanasia - For Veterinary Students and Staff to Understand and Improve Companion Animal Welfare. The presentation of this material is divided into two delivery sessions.

 


The enthusiasm of the participants was very visible from the active discussion sessions that were held, especially not only Dr. Gabrielle Musk was the only one to respond. However, dr. Jennifer from Animals Australia also provided feedback on the questions raised by the participants. The questions asked were not only from the students, but also the lecturers and students stakeholder also cheered up.

 


Before advancing to the second session, the invitees and participants were given 30 minutes to enjoy the coffee break which has been prepared by the committee. After that, it was continued with the second session material which focused on the topic "Veterinary Analgesia, Quality of Life and Euthanasia”.


“Freya the walrus news, is it justifiable and necessary? How to protect walruses and the people?” asked Nadhira Bunga Intan as a participant in the activity. This question became the closing question before the discussion session ended.


The activity was closed by handing over a plaque to the Dean of FVM Unud by the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia Foundation as a memento and thank you. Afterwards, invited guests and participants are welcome to have lunch together.
