POP! PDHI Bali Successfully Holds 2024 Professional Orientation Center

The management of the Perhimpunan Dokter Hewan Indonesia (PDHI) Bali Branch for the 2023—2027 term conducted the Pusat Orientasi Profesi (POP) Batch I of 2024 at the Meeting Room of the Balai Penerapan Standar Instrumental Pertanian (BPSIP) Bali on Saturday, February 17th, 2024. The event was officially opened by the Chairman of PDHI Bali Branch, Dr. I Dewa Made Anom. In his speech, the chairman conveyed upcoming programs of PDHI Bali Branch that have been planned and will be further informed. The POP Batch I event was attended by several veterinarians, both from Bali and outside, as participants.

The main agenda for this POP activity contains a number of material presentations by inviting three well-known speakers, namely drh. Anak Agung Gede Putra, M.Sc., Ph.D., S.H., Prof. Dr. drh. Nyoman Sadra Dharmawan, MS., and drh. I Made Candra.

The first topic was presented by drh. Gede Putra on "Etika Veteriner" within the Indonesian Veterinary Profession Code of Ethics. This was discussed due to existing articles that have not been fully implemented by veterinarians in Bali, such as modest and rule-compliant practice information boards.

The second speaker, Prof. Sadra Dharmawan, delivered an engaging session on "Leadership and Communication Skills," explaining leadership aspects and effective communication steps in the field of veterinary medicine.

The third topic addressed in this event was "Perizinan Veteriner," presented by drh. Candra. He discussed business licensing procedures, online system submission (OSS) for licensing and non+licensing, and the prestige in Bali Province in accordance with applicable regulations.

The Chairman of PDHI Bali Branch also expressed readiness to facilitate and assist legal veterinary colleagues, emphasizing the importance of legality in the veterinary profession. Additionally, the Secretary I of PDHI Bali Branch explained the essential documents needed for veterinary practice licensing and the process of obtaining those requirements, including the associated costs.

The series of activities continues with discussion sessions for each topic, enthusiastically embraced with questions from participants. The speakers address all questions by providing thorough and detailed answers along with valuable feedback and suggestions. This ongoing Pusat Orientasi Profesi is not just for obtaining certificates but also to understand the ethics towards patients, colleagues, and clients while fulfilling professional duties.
