IMPROVING CONFIDENCE AND PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILLS TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL IN THEIR FIELD : SEMINAR NASIONAL MINPRO SULUH 2022
Profession Interest Suluh Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University held a National Seminar with the theme: “Improve Speaker Skill: Everyone And Anything Start From There”. This activity is an annual mandatory activity organized by the Suluh Professional Interest (Minpro Suluh), and after going through several weeks of preparation, it was the peak day of the activity which was held on 1st October 2022 which took place in a hybrid way, namely offline located at the 1st Floor Meeting Room of the Veterinary Faculty Udayana University (FKH Unud) and Online by Cisco Webex Meeting. This activity was attended by 122 participants from students throughout Indonesia and prepared by 32 committee members including Steering Committee (SC).
The National Seminar on Minpro Suluh 2022 is packed with several series including the opening by the MC, praying, singing the Indonesia Raya anthem, Report from Chairman of the Committee, Speech from the Chairperson of the Suluh Professional Interest, Speech from the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board of FKH Unud, Speech by the Foster of Suluh Professional Interest, Speech by the Dean who was represented by the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs, FKH Unud, then continued with the first material and discussion by Drh. Putu Henrywaesa Sudipa, M.Si and moderated by I Gde Andhika Putra Pratama and the session was closed with the handover of certificates and plaques by the moderator. The event was followed by a 30-minute shared lunch break (ISBAMA) and then continued with the second material and discussion by Komang Putri Cahaya Pratiwi, S.
The event ended with a games session and a photo session with all participants of the Suluh National Seminar on Professional Interest as the closing of the event. One of the participants, Elisa Fareza said “I can get a lot of knowledge about public speaking which is very much needed in the present and in the future. In addition, it has broadened my horizons in improving my speaking skills in front of the public. The show is very exciting, fun, and not boring at all. Moreover, coupled with the games and prizes. Hopefully next year's National Seminar can be fully offline so that it will be more exciting and you can meet other friends.”
As stated by the Vice Dean III for Student Affairs in his speech that communication is very important because each intent and purpose will have a different meaning if the communication is wrong, and it is very important to know how to communicate effectively and easily understandably, especially when dealing with clients. Therefore, with the holding of the 2022 Suluh Professional Interest National Seminar, it is hoped that all participants present will be able to further develop public speaking skills, increase self-confidence and practice public speaking skills more often.
