Get to Know Case Report Writing with the Veterinary English Club (VEC) of FKH Unud

The Talent and Interest Division (Minbat) of the Veterinary English Club (VEC), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FKH Unud), successfully held its first General Lecture on Saturday, April 19th, 2025. The event was conducted online via the Cisco Webex Meetings platform. It was officially opened by the Vice Dean III of FKH Unud, Dr. drh. I Wayan Sudira, M.Si., and attended by 58 participants who were students of FKH Unud.

Carrying the theme and topic related to case studies, "Case Report Writing for Veterinary Students: Turning Clinical into Publications", this first General Lecture aimed to encourage students to enhance their ability in transforming clinical cases into scientific papers that can compete not only on a national level but also internationally.

The lecture was delivered by one of the lecturers from FKH Unud, drh. Putu Suandhika, M.Sc. He explained the definition, examples, and general steps of writing a case report in English. The session also covered how to choose appropriate journals and platforms that can serve as reference sources. In addition to the material, he shared his personal experiences in writing and publishing case reports in scientific journals.

The excitement of the event grew during the ice-breaking session, which featured a game using the Quizziz platform. The three participants with the highest scores received special prizes prepared by the committee.

By holding this Public Lecture I, participants are not only expected to gain new knowledge related to scientific case reports, because as a prospective veterinarian, writing scientific papers based on case reports is nothing new. In addition, participants are also expected to be able to improve their English language skills through this Public Lecture I. The event concluded with a group photo session.
