FKH Unud Holds 2025 Outstanding Veterinary Student Selection, Who Will Be the Champion?


The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FKH Unud) organized the 2025 Outstanding Veterinary Student Selection (Pilmavet) event. This activity is an annual event aimed at representing the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) in the 2025 Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) competition. This year, Pilmavet 2025 carries the theme "Smart Veterinarians for a Sustainable World: Outstanding Student Contributions in Realizing SDGs in the 4.0 Era". Pilmavet 2025 consists of three series of events, namely Stage 1 Selection, Finalist Coaching (Training), and Stage 2 Selection.



Stage 1 of the selection which was held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 was a participant interview session. This activity took place in Lecture Room 2, 3rd Floor, Dean's Building of FKH Unud, Jimbaran Campus, attended by the Pilmavet 2025 supervising lecturer, drh. Yeocelin Meida Utami, M.Sc., Vice Chairman of BEM FKH Unud, Chairman of the Student Representative Council (DPM) FKH Unud, Head of Human Resource Development (PSDM) Division of BEM FKH Unud, and the Supervisory Board of DPM FKH Unud. The event began with opening remarks from the Chairman of the Pilmavet 2025 Committee, followed by the introduction of the jury panel, namely Dr. drh. I Nengah Wandia, M.Si., drh. Tri Komala Sari, S.K.H., M.S., Ph.D., and drh. Ida Ayu Dian Kusuma Dewi, S.K.H., MVSc. who was replaced by drh. Yeocelin Meida Utami, M.Sc., at this stage due to being unable to attend. Previously, on May 13, 2025, participants were required to create a Creative Ideas (GK) manuscript in accordance with development issues related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Industrial Revolution 4.0, a creative ideas poster, and a presentation video regarding the steps to be realized based on the ideas manuscript or issue as a requirement to participate in Pilmavet 2025. Stage 1 was participated by 18 participants from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts. This interview session explored participants' biographical data, realization of the narrative works they had created, and the level of relevance in their surrounding environment.




After passing stage 1 selection, from 18 participants who had undergone interviews, five finalists were selected to participate in the coaching stage on Sunday, May 25, 2025. The agenda began with the first material presentation session by the 1st Place Winner of National Outstanding Student (Mapresnas) Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association (ISMIKI) 2024, I Komang Chandra Yogananda. The material on "Outstanding Students of Udayana University" that he presented thoroughly discussed the Unud Pilmapres selection process, criteria, benefits, as well as tips and tricks for passing Pilmapres. Additionally, he also showcased one of his works titled "Oncobra: Optimization of Multimodal Sensor Data Analysis Based on Convolutional Neural Network and Internet of Medical Things for Detection and Management of Breast Cancer Patients Through Smart Bra Device" as an example of how creative ideas can solve problems in society. The creative idea embodied in that work can function to detect patients with early-stage cancer and enable them to receive medical treatment more quickly. The second session was presented by the 1st Place Winner of Pilmavet 2024, Ladyva Pinke Andrea. She delivered material regarding the biggest challenges when participating in Pilmavet, such as time management, how to properly organize competition preparation, benefits of winning Pilmavet 2024, as well as memorable moments with other finalists during Pilmavet. The activity continued with a drawing to determine the order of the top five finalists for stage 2 selection.

Saturday, May 31, 2025 is the last day of the 2025 Pilmavet series of activities in Lecture Room 2, 3rd Floor, Dean's Building, FKH Unud, Jimbaran Campus. This activity was officially opened by the Vice Dean III of FKH Unud, Dr. drh. I Wayan Sudira, M.Si. In his opening remarks, he stated that Pilmavet serves as an open space for all FKH Unud students to express themselves and develop. Stage 2 selection was filled with presentation agenda regarding the creative ideas (GK) that had been created since the document submission stage. Each participant presented their ideas for five minutes followed by a ten-minute question and answer session with the jury panel. All finalist participants who had completed the presentation and Q&A session then waited for the jury deliberation results that would determine the winner based on predetermined assessment criteria while taking a break, worship, and lunch session.

 


Pilmavet 2025 successfully found its winners, with Annabelle Maureen Cherry Therestian (2024) achieving first place, followed by Justin Mindan (2023) in second place, and Zhaskia Ashari (2023) in third place. Meanwhile, Florentia Lentera Kasih Rosasi (2023) secured fourth place, and Grace Stefany Ayudiani (2023) occupied fifth position in this selection.

Hopefully, with the successful implementation of Pilmavet 2025, FKH Unud can continue to support the development of outstanding students.
