Building a Generation of Leaders Through DMO 2025
Sunday, March 16, 2025, the Peak Day of the Organizational Management Training (DMO) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FKH Unud) was held at the Dean’s Building of FKH Unud, Jimbaran Campus. Much improved from the previous year, this year’s DMO activity was attended by a total of 60 participants consisting of 21 members of the Student Executive Board (BEM), nine members of the Student Representative Council (DPM), and 30 members of the Student Press Agency (LPM) Suara Satwa FKH Unud.
DMO is an annual activity carried out with the aim of honing the abilities of members of the three senates at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the field of leadership. This year’s DMO activity carries the theme “Sangathana Vrdhhi” which means increasing the ability of organization members to develop and become more effective in achieving their goals. This activity was officially opened by the Dean of FKH Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si. In his remarks, he said that the benefits of this education and training activity will affect and play a big role in the world of work in the future. In addition, this activity was attended by the three leaders of SM-FKH Udayana University, namely the Chairperson of BEM FKH Unud, Putu Surya Pratama Putra; Chairperson of DPM FKH Unud, Amira Inas Wibowo; and the General Leader of LPM Suara Satwa FKH Unud, Mia Kosasih.
After the opening ceremony and filling in the pre-test, the activity continued with a talk show session that invited the three Demisioners of the SM-FKH Leadership of Udayana University for the 2024 period, namely Alvian Cahya Ramadhan, Giovanni Owen Girsang, and Made Baruna Yuwana Negara. The talk show session seemed to arouse the enthusiasm of the participants because it was filled with questions related to the organization and experience of the three demisioners.
Different from previous years, this time, DMO inserted a post session agenda as a new concept. The Chairperson of the DMO 2025 Committee, Muhammad Arief Sovi, in his interview said that the addition of the post session agenda aims to ensure that what the participants have learned during the talk show session can be directly applied in each post they pass. In the session, participants must pass five posts which are divided into initiative posts, solution posts, debate posts, cooperation posts, and evaluation posts. Each of these posts is a real application of the traits that must be possessed by someone in an organization. Participants seemed enthusiastic in following the course of the event as seen from the activeness during the discussion session. The activity went smoothly without any significant obstacles.
