Monitoring and Cooperation: Collaboration between FKKH Undana and FKH Unud Unite in Research and Community Service
The visit from the Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine team from Nusa Cendana University (FKKH Undana) to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FKH Unud) is a form of cooperation between the two universities that has been going on since 2023. This visit was carried out offline on Friday, 27 December, 2024, at the 1st Floor Meeting Room, FKH Unud Building, Sudirman Campus. The collaboration between the two aims to improve cooperation in the fields of academics, student affairs, development of Human Resources (HR) for lecturers, and education staff.
The direct visit from the FKKH Undana team was led by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance of FKKH Undana, drh. Yohanes T. R. M. R. Simarmata, M.Sc. This activity was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans I and II, Coordinator of the Doctoral Study Program, Expert Staff of FKH Unud along with the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Head of the S-1 Study Program and the Veterinary Profession Program (PPDH), Head of the Laboratory of Disease and Veterinary Public Health, and the Chairperson and Secretary of the S-1 Veterinary Medicine Quality Control Group of FKKH Undana.
This activity began with a speech by the Dean of FKH Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si. In his speech, he discussed a brief profile related to the academic environment of Unud and FKH Unud. In addition, he also said that the collaboration between FKH Unud and FKKH Undana can benefit both parties, especially in the academic field. "Our hope from FKH Unud is that this collaboration can continue to be implemented in the future," he concluded. Thereafter, the activity continued with the delivery of a few words and expressions of gratitude by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance of FKKH Undana. In his speech he said that FKH Unud is like a parent to FKKH Undana because several lecturers at FKKH are alumni of FKH Unud.
This activity is divided into three sessions, namely the 2024 Work Program Evaluation, Discussion of the 2025 Cooperation Program, and Signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA). In the 2024 Work Program Evaluation session, drh. Tri Komala Sari, M.S., Ph.D., delivered input and evaluation related to the Virology Course practicum which was less touched by Undana Veterinary Medicine undergraduate students. Considering that she had taught at FKKH Undana as a guest lecturer, this was the main point in this evaluation. The next session was filled with the Discussion of the 2025 Cooperation Program, in this second session the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance of FKKH Undana offered FKH Unud to conduct joint research related to rabies cases and could become a tripartite collaboration (three-party collaboration). If agreed, a meeting will be held between the two at the end of January 2025. FKKH Undana also hopes for openness from FKH Unud to carry out joint service in East Nusa Tenggara. The Dean of FKH Unud expressed his readiness to accept the collaboration. Through this research and service, it is hoped that it can have a positive impact, especially for the S-3 study program of FKH Unud and FKH Undana where students can have the opportunity to become promoters. The activity ended with the last session, namely the Signing of the Implementation Agreement (IA) by Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Sudisma, M.Si., and drh. Elisabet Tangkonda, M.Sc., Ph.D.
Although this activity was quite late, it still ran smoothly. Through the implementation of this cooperation, it is hoped that the collaboration between FKH Unud and FKKH Undana can continue to run well, so that it can provide significant benefits for both institutions, especially in the development of education, research, and community service in the veterinary field.
