The Interest of The Profession Vetholic: Creating the Golden Generation Through Milk

Commemorating World Milk Day 2024, The Interest of The Profession (Minpro) Veterinary Holic (Vetholic) Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, successfully held an event which was divided into two series of events in the Form of Community Service Activities and Public Lectures. The Service Activities were filled with socialization and milk distribution on Saturday, 1st June, 2024 at Tat Twam Asi Kindergarten, Jimbaran, which was then continued with a Public Lecture on Sunday, June 2rd, 2024, online through the Cisco Webex Meetings platform.

With the theme "Through Milk Creating the Nation's Golden Generation", this service activity was welcomed with enthusiasm by the school and 73 students of Tat Twam Asi Kindergarten.

 

The principal of Tat Twam Asi Kindergarten, Ni Ketut Mariasih, S.Pd., in her speech supported and hoped that World Milk Day activities in the following years could continue to be carried out considering that this activity could increase early childhood understanding of the importance of consuming milk.

The socialization that conducted by Minpro Vetholic focused on the content of pure milk which is better for consumption among milk with other flavors added. Not only that, Minpro Vetholic also sharpened the participants creativity through coloring activities and fun and interesting games. Although there was a slight delay and sound leakage constraints on the sound system at the beginning of the opening, the activity can run smoothly colored by the joy of Tat Twam Asi Kindergarten’s students. 

Continuing the first series of activities, the First Public Lecture on World Milk Day 2024 succeeded in setting a new record by attracting 149 participants from 12 different universities, including Airlangga University, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar, ITB Stikom Bali Jimbaran, Hasanudin University, Hala Huleo University, Education University Mandalika, Syiah Kuala University, Ganesha Education University, Stikes Buleleng, Yogyakarta National Institute of Technology, Warmadewa University, and Udayana University. This Public Lecture invited Dr. drh. I Gusti Ayu Agung Suartini, M.Si, as the speaker with the topic raised namely "Nutritional Intervention (Milk) in the Right Period Towards the Golden Generation".

"Giving milk is good to do, but if the milk given is not right, it will not give good results," said drh. Agung in her presentation. She also explained that the level of milk consumption in Indonesia is still low and is an opportunity for veterinarians to develop professional cattle farms so that they can carry out nutritional interventions in milk for the nation's golden generation.
