The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University Prepares Students for the 2026 Kampus Berdampak Program

Jimbaran — The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) at Udayana University provided a general briefing for students participating in the Kampus Berdampak Program for the First Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. Held at the Nusantara Hall, Agrokomplek, on Thursday (August 6, 2026), the activity served as an initial preparation for students before undertaking the Bina Desa and Independent Internship programs in the field.

The activity was attended by the Dean of FVM Unud, Vice Deans, study program coordinators, lecturers, as well as several partners and stakeholders, including the Badung Regency Agriculture and Food Service, the Indonesian Veterinary Medical Association (PDHI) Bali Branch, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, veterinary clinics, and village heads in Badung Regency. The briefing featured the Head of the Kampus Berdampak Unit at Udayana University, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sardiana, M.Si., and the Vice Dean I of FVM Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si., as speakers.

In his presentation, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sardiana, M.Si., explained that the Kampus Berdampak Program is designed to strengthen community empowerment and contribute to addressing social, economic, and environmental issues. The program includes the Mahasiswa Berdampak Program, Industry-Based Magang Berdampak, and research collaborations with senior researchers.

In addition to understanding the objectives of the program, students received an explanation of the administrative procedures through SIMAK-NG. Students are required to register, obtain study program validation, be assigned academic supervisors, upload supporting documents, and regularly complete their logbooks throughout the program. Each activity recorded in the logbook must include a description of the activity, date and time, duration, and supporting evidence, and must be validated by the academic supervisor.

The briefing also emphasized the importance of proper administrative procedures to ensure that students' activities are recorded in the academic system. Students who have completed the required administrative procedures, reports, logbooks, and grade conversion will have their participation reported through systems connected to PDDIKTI and SISTER.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si., presented the regulatory framework and performance indicators of the Kampus Berdampak Program. The program is part of the implementation of Merdeka Belajar, providing students with opportunities to gain learning experiences outside the campus, establish collaboration with partners, and develop competencies relevant to the needs of the workforce.

Within FVM Unud, students can participate in various activities, including Bina Desa, internships in the livestock industry, veterinary clinics or animal hospitals, zoo parks, and government institutions. Through these activities, students gain practical experience while developing communication, leadership, collaboration, and adaptability skills.

The program is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Kampus Berdampak Program supports SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning and student competency development. It is also related to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by strengthening students' skills and readiness for the workforce. In addition, activities aimed at addressing community challenges contribute to SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, depending on the nature of the activities carried out in the field.

To ensure that the program is implemented effectively, students, academic supervisors, study programs, and faculty leadership each have specific responsibilities. Program Supervisors (DPL), for example, are responsible for conducting field monitoring, validating students' online logbooks, and participating in the final assessment process. Meanwhile, faculty and study program leadership also monitor the implementation of student activities.

The Kampus Berdampak Program for the First Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year is scheduled to run from August 11 to December 7, 2026. During this period, students will participate in Bina Desa activities as well as internships at veterinary clinics and industries, accompanied by regular completion and validation of their logbooks. The program will then continue with monitoring and evaluation, final report preparation, and the final program examination in December 2026.

Through this briefing, FVM Unud students are expected to understand the implementation mechanisms of the Kampus Berdampak Program and carry out their activities with discipline, responsibility, and in accordance with their areas of competence. The program provides students with an opportunity to connect academic learning with practical experiences in communities, workplaces, and professional environments within the field of veterinary medicine.
