Public Lecture Minpro Suluh 2024: Becoming a Professional Consultant in the World of Veterinary Medicine


Profession Interest (Minpro) Suluh Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Udayana University (FKH Unud) again held a Public Lecture (Kulum) I Minpro Suluh online through the Cisco Webex Meetings platform on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The activity organized by Minpro Suluh raised the theme "Consultants: The Magic Man of Society" with the aim of providing new insights and knowledge about the world of consultants, especially in the field of veterinary medicine. This activity began with a report from the Chairperson of the Kulum I Minpro Suluh 2024 Committee, Patricia Khansa Lunasiswo, and continued with remarks from the Chairperson of Minpro Suluh FKH Unud, Chairperson of the Student Executive Board (BEM) FKH Unud, and Vice Dean III FKH Unud who also officially opened this activity.




Kulum I Minpro Suluh successfully attracted 116 participants who came not only from Udayana University, but from several Faculties of Veterinary Medicine in Indonesia, including Bogor Agricultural Institute, Nusa Cendana University, Airlangga University, and Muhammadiyah Malang University of Education.

 


This activity presents Prof. Dr. drh. I Nengah Kerta Besung, M.Si., as a speaker. He is one of the lecturers at FKH Unud who is also experienced in the field of veterinary consultants. On this occasion, he presented material entitled "The Art of Persuasion and Influence". In his presentation, he not only discussed the technical aspects of consultation, but also highlighted the importance of the ability to persuade, to the influence of the role of a consultant in the veterinary world. He also emphasized that the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with clients is the key to the success of a consultant working in the veterinary field.

After the presentation of the material, the event continued with a discussion session. Although some participants had network problems, this did not hinder their enthusiasm for discussion. This enthusiasm was shown by the many questions from the participants, both directly and through the available chat column. The event was also enlivened with games with prizes that further increased the enthusiasm of the participants.

 

With this public lecture, it is hoped that participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of a consultant and inspire participants to develop an interest in the world of consulting and apply it, especially in the field of veterinary medicine.
