JMT FVM Unud Serves as the Culmination of PKKMB, Introducing the Academic Environment and Campus Life to New Students

Jimbaran — The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) of Udayana University (Unud) once again held its routine Jumat Minum Teh (JMT), which was held in conjunction with the culmination of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) on Friday (August 7, 2026). The activity took place in the Theater Room, 3rd Floor, Lecture Building, Universitas Udayana.

The activity was attended by the Dean of FVM Unud, Vice Deans, study program coordinators, lecturers, educational staff, and new students. In addition to being part of the PKKMB series, the activity served as an introductory forum for new students to understand the academic environment, education system, facilities, and various student activities at FVM Unud.

The activity was officially opened by the Dean of FVM Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Sudisma, M.Si., who also delivered a presentation on the introduction of the leadership and academic community. New students were introduced to the faculty leadership, Academic Advisors, and educational staff who will support the educational process throughout their studies at FVM Unud.

The next presentation was delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Prof. Dr. drh. I Wayan Suardana, M.Si., who explained the higher education system in Indonesia as well as various non-academic student activities. This understanding is expected to help students recognize the opportunities for self-development available throughout their campus life.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. drh. I Made Kardena, S.KH., MVS, Ph.D., introduced various facilities, infrastructure, and supporting facilities for learning within the FVM Unud environment. This introduction was an important part of ensuring that students can properly utilize campus facilities to support both academic activities and competency development.

From an academic perspective, the Coordinator of the Bachelor Veterinary Science Study Program, Dr. drh. I Nengah Wandia, M.Si., provided an explanation of the undergraduate academic education system and the concept of Kampus Berdampak at FVM Unud. Students were introduced to the learning process while also being encouraged to understand the role of higher education in providing benefits to society.

In addition to the introductory sessions, students also received technical guidance on academic services. Educational Staff in the Academic Affairs Division, Dewa Ariesprabowo Awanda Putra, S.Kom.,provided practical guidance on the use of IMISSU (SIMAK), completion of the Study Plan Card (KRS), and data verification in the Higher Education Database (PDDikti). This material helped students understand various academic administrative services that will be used throughout their studies.

The introduction to the educational environment was also complemented by information about the Udayana University Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP Unud), delivered by the Director of RSHP Unud, drh. I Putu Gede Yudhi Arjentinia, M.Si. Students gained an overview of the teaching animal hospital as one of the facilities supporting education and learning in the field of veterinary medicine.

The JMT activity, which also served as the culmination of PKKMB, became a momentum for new students to become more familiar with the FVM Unud environment, both in terms of academics, student affairs, facilities, and educational services. The presence of faculty leaders, lecturers, and educational staff also demonstrated the importance of early interaction between students and the campus environment.

This activity is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly in supporting the provision of inclusive and quality higher education, while promoting learning opportunities and competency development for students. Through the introduction of the education system, learning facilities, academic services, and student development activities, FVM Unud seeks to build an educational foundation that supports students' learning processes from the beginning of their studies.

Through the PKKMB activity organized together with JMT, new students not only gained information about academic life but also developed an initial understanding of the environment, systems, and various resources they can utilize to grow throughout their time as members of FVM Unud.
