Get to Know the Student Organizations at Udayana University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with UVeA 2024
Every year, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Udayana University (FKH Unud) hosts the Udayana Veterinary Activity (UVeA), an event dedicated to introducing new students to the various student organizations (Ormawa) within the faculty. UVeA serves as the second phase of the faculty's orientation program, designed to help first-year students discover and pursue their interests and talents through the available organizations. This year, UVeA 2024 held on August 28-29, at the Nusantara Room, Agrokomplek Building, Udayana University, Sudirman Campus. The event, themed "Gamma Hanasta Acintya Magenta," symbolizes the exploration of knowledge within the magenta world (the official color of FKH Unud). UVeA 2024 welcomed 188 participants, including 178 new students and 10 returning students.
The first day of UVeA 2024 kicked off with a lively parade by the FKH Unud student organizations and was officially opened by the Dean of FKH Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Si., through a symbolic kayon planting ceremony. The first day focused on introducing the Student Senate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (SM-FKH) and various student interest groups (Minbat) through an interactive talk show. This year's event also featured special guests, including the President, Secretary-General, and Supervisory Board Chairperson of the Indonesian Veterinary Student Association (IMAKAHI), who participated in a discussion session. Following this, the SM-FKH Unud introduced the student press organization Suara Satwa (LPM SS) of FKH Unud, the Student Representative Council (DPM) of FKH Unud, and the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FKH Unud. Each organization was showcased through parades and videos that highlighted their current members and activities. The talk show then shifted focus to the interest groups (Minbat), including the BEM's Sports Division, Veterinary English Club (VEC), Vetro Voice, and Jegeg Bagus FKH Unud, each of which impressed the audience with performances that showcased their talents.
Unlike the first day, the second day of UVeA 2024 featured an introduction to the profession interest groups (Minpro) and Veterinary Warrior (Vetwar) for the participants. Similar to Minbat, the profession interest groups are Semi-Autonomous Bodies that serve as a platform for FKH Unud students to develop skills and knowledge based on their interests and specialization in the field of veterinary medicine. The Minpro at FKH Unud include Rothschildi, Turtle Guard, Veterinary Holic (Vetholic), Veterinary Science Club (Vesica), Pet Learning Organization (P-LO), and Suluh. The introduction to Minpro was also presented in the form of an interactive talk show with performances from each Minpro, such as snake handling by Rothschildi, simulated sea turtle rescue by Turtle Guard, livestock handling simulation by Vetholic, dog handling and restraint by P-LO, exciting games by Suluh, and puzzle quizzes by Vesica. Each Minpro also showcased a profile video to introduce their officers and work programs.
The highlight of the second day was the Minpro Expo, where each Minpro set up a booth displaying their unique characteristics. Participants of UVeA 2024 were free to interact and discuss to learn more about each Minpro. After the Minpro introduction, the agenda continued with the introduction of Vetwar. Vetwar is a supporter unit for FKH Unud's sports branches, which will support FKH during the Dies Natalis of Udayana University. The atmosphere during the Vetwar introduction was intense and emotional, reflecting the fervent solidarity of FKH Unud students through parades and speeches from the Chairman of Vetwar 2024. All UVeA 2024 participants were invited to stand together and sing Vetwar’s proudful songs.
UVeA 2024 concluded with the registration for Minpro and Minbat by the participants, followed by the introduction of the PKKMB X UVeA 2024 Collaboration Committee. UVeA 2024 ended successfully and vibrantly. Now it’s time to continue the adventure and explore the world of veterinary medicine with FKH Unud. Happy exploring and facing new challenges!
