FVM Unud and PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo Strengthen Research and Scientific Publication Collaboration

Denpasar — The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University (FVM Unud), received a visit from PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo to discuss plans for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS). The meeting was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the First-Floor Meeting Room of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University, Denpasar Campus.

The meeting began with opening remarks by Vice Dean II for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. drh. I Made Kardena, MVS., Ph.D., followed by remarks from the Dean of FVM Unud, Prof. Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Sudisma, M.Si. The meeting was attended by the vice deans, study program coordinators, Head of Administration, sub-coordinators, lecturers, and representatives from PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the development of a cooperation framework that would serve as the foundation for various joint activities. The Dean of FVM Unud explained that the process of developing the Cooperation Agreement must begin with an MoU as the legal framework before the cooperation is further specified in the PKS.

Cooperation between FVM Unud and PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo has previously been carried out through several activities, including research and internship programs for undergraduate and master's students. Through the formal establishment of the MoU and PKS, the cooperation is expected to have a clearer legal basis and provide benefits for both parties.

One of the key topics discussed was the further development of research conducted by FVM Unud lecturers. Research findings considered to have further development potential may be processed into products that can benefit the community. In addition, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in scientific publication.

The discussion also covered research plans to be conducted jointly by FVM Unud and PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo. During the discussion and question-and-answer session, both parties exchanged views on the planned research activities and opportunities for further development of research findings.

Another point raised during the meeting was the expectation that the results of a field trial of a rabies vaccine produced by PT Caprifarmindo, which was conducted in Sukawana Village, Kintamani, Bangli, could be further processed. The data is expected to be developed into a scientific publication, thereby contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine.

As part of the cooperation development process, the draft PKS will undergo a review by the legal team of Udayana University to ensure its legal aspects and legal drafting. PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo expressed its readiness to return to FVM Unud once the MoU and PKS drafting and review processes have been completed and the documents are ready for signing.

In addition to discussing the planned cooperation, the visit also included the presentation of certificates of appreciation to several FVM Unud lecturers who had been involved in activities with PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo.

Efforts to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and the industry sector through this activity are aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From an educational perspective, student involvement in internship and research activities supports SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly by strengthening learning experiences connected to the workplace and professional practice.

The development of research findings and plans to process research data into scientific publications are also related to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, particularly in promoting innovation and the utilization of research findings to address community needs.

Meanwhile, the cooperation established between FVM Unud and PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo directly reflects SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Collaboration between educational institutions and industry provides an opportunity to bring together resources, expertise, and experience to support the development of research and veterinary education.

Through a structured process of developing the MoU and PKS, FVM Unud and PT Sanbe Farma-Caprifarmindo position their cooperation not only as an institutional partnership but also as a means of advancing research, scientific publication, student experience, and the broader utilization of research findings.
