Eid al-Adha Qurban: Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Udayana collaborate with Department of Agriculture of Denpasar City check the health of the Qurban animal
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Udayana (FVM Unud) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of Denpasar City to co-operate with the Ante-Post Mortem Examination of Eid al-Qurban which starts from 8 -11 th of July 2022.
The Ante-Post Mortem Qurban inspection activity aims to assist Muslims in checking the health of the qurban meat that will be consumed later.
"We have also prepared the location of the mosques that hold Eid al-Adha or qurban," said Drh. Ida Ayu Made Sri Martini while attending a briefing activity on Saturday (02/07). Even in order to expedite this inspection activity, the service veterinarians will also join in accompanying the students of FVM Unud.
After a few days after the debriefing activity, the Denpasar City Agriculture Service also distributed all FVM Unud students who participated to all mosques or areas celebrating the feast of qurban.
Simultaneously, all FVM Unud students conducted site surveys and Ante Mortem inspection activities on last Friday (08/07).
It is very unfortunate that not all mosques that are registered carry out the slaughter of sacrificial animals. However, this did not discourage the students, they continued to participate by helping their friends in the area who did the slaughter.
"This is my first experience going out in the field and it turns out that the knowledge I got stuck to my head," said Sri Werdi Astuti, who told his story when conducting a Post-Mortem examination last Sunday (10/07).
The Post-Mortem Examination activity continued until last Monday (11/07), this information was obtained from students who reported the development of their qurban area through an WhatsApp . To appreciate the students who took part, the faculty also gave unit credit points (SKP). Appreciation is not only given by the faculty. According to Kamaliyah Alawiyah Yahya, the residents were very enthusiastic about welcoming veterinarians or prospective veterinarians who helped. He was invited to eat together and also distributed the slaughtered qurban meat.
As expected by various parties, this year's Ante-Post Mortem Qurban examination went well and solemnly. Between the organizing committee and inter-religious brothers and sisters working together, so as to create a peace. The results of the sacrifices obtained are confirmed to be healthy and safe for consumption.
